Item: Government Marketing Best Practices (the book) went into its fifth printing last month, making it the best selling book on doing business with the government. Government Marketing Best Practices (the seminar) returns August 12 see below.
Item: If your government business involves dealing with senior federal executives, watch out for the upcoming election. As most of the senior execs (SES) have 30-plus years in, and are eligible to retire, I think the majority of them will do so within 90 days after the election. After every election, agency shake-ups start with the appointment of the new presidential appointees. In my 25 years in this market, I have rarely met an SESer who enjoyed the process of breaking in a new boss and waiting to see how politics would influence the business of the agency.
Item: The Small Business Administration (SBA) HubZone program came under fire alleged abuse. Some companies claiming HubZone status apparently falsified their status. Complete information here: http://www.allbusiness.com/government/government-bodies-offices-us-federal-government/11382033-1.html
